Wednesday Dec 19, 2018
Producer/engineer Eddie Kramer journeyed to New York in April 1968 to work with Jimi Hendrix on the Electric Ladyland album. They had already worked together in London previously and had also recorded some of the tracks for the new album there. When Hendrix returned to New York to work at the Record Plant, Kramer was called in to assist.
Now Electric Ladyland, originally released in Octiber 1968, has been re-issued in a box set with extra discs containing demos and a live concert recording from the Hollywood Bowl. There is also a Blu-Ray with a documentary about the making of the album and a 5.1 Surround Sound remix.
Brian Wise spoke to Eddie Kramer about the album in November 2018.
